Basic Terms You Must Know

Before stepping into Pattaya nightlife, get these basics straight: Bar Fines, Lady Drinks, Short Time, and Long Time.

Bar Fines

Pattaya has around 80–100 Go Go Bars, and all of them charge a bar fine.

What’s a bar fine?
If you spot a girl you like and want to take her back to your hotel, you first need to pay the bar a fee — this is the bar fine.

Normal range: 500–1500 THB (RM65 – RM195)
Non-negotiable: Bar fine is for the bar, not the girl
Why it exists: once you take the girl, she can’t sell drinks for the bar anymore, and the bar doesn’t get any cut of her service with you

Take a girl too early in the night, and the bar fine is usually higher. After midnight until around 2 AM, it gets cheaper.

To take a girl out, just tell the staff “check bin” — they’ll bill you for drinks + bar fine together.

Coyote Girls (the hottest ones dancing or standing at the door) have higher bar fines, up to 2000 THB (RM260).

⚠️ Remember: bar fine has nothing to do with the actual service fee you negotiate with the girl.

Lady Drinks

When you invite a girl to sit with you at a Go Go Bar, you’re expected to buy her a lady drink.

Price range: 100–200 THB (RM13 – RM26)
Girls get a commission from it
Example: at Skyfall Go Go Bar, a Coyote Tequil lady drink is 150 THB (RM19.5)

A single drink buys you around 5–10 minutes of her time. After that, she’ll usually push for another one. If you’re not interested, politely refuse — no pressure.

Cultural styles: Westerners flirt openly, Japanese/Korean guys like touching, Chinese guests usually just hang with their buddies. Don’t be shy — the girls here are very open, some will even sit on your lap.

Tips for Beginners

If it’s your first time, you might just want to enjoy the view. Don’t feel forced — you can always say no if a girl asks you to buy her a drink.

But keep in mind: buying lady drinks does NOT mean you can sleep with her.
If you want to go further, there are only two ways:

Short Time: quick session, usually 1 hour (1 shot). If you finish in 10 minutes, it’s over.
Long Time: overnight stay (2 shots).

Beer Bars

Beer Bars are cheaper and more casual than Go Go Bars. There are more of them, the vibe is relaxed, often with free pool tables. Great for hanging out, drinking, and meeting girls. Lady drinks are also reasonably priced.

Short Time: 1000 – 2000 THB (RM130 – RM260)
Long Time: 2500 – 4500 THB (RM325 – RM585)

Go Go Bars

Go Go Bars are more private (with curtains) and often feature topless or nude pole dancing.

Here, choosing girls is straightforward — you see everything: body shape, breast size, stretch marks, everything clear upfront.

Smaller Go Go Bars: ~20 girls
Larger Go Go Bars: 30–50 girls, sometimes more
Some even have glass ceilings, so you can look up at nude dancers on the second floor — very stimulating.

Bar Fine: usually higher than beer bars, 500 – 800 THB (RM65 – RM104)

Service Fees:

Short Time: 1500 – 3000 THB (RM195 – RM390)
Long Time: 3000 – 6000 THB (RM390 – RM780)

Tips for Veterans

If you want long-term arrangements (like monthly or “special requests”), discuss clearly beforehand.
For overnight, agree on what time she’ll leave next morning. You can also pay half upfront and half when she leaves.
Don’t just stick to bars — you can also try street beer bars or even arrange to meet “good Thai girls” for a different kind of holiday experience.
